WELCOME TO THE FIRST EDITION OF
200
8/9/2016 Broadcast
I love Heath Slater. The guy is truly one of the most underrated guys on the WWE roster. His match with Rhyno was very good and he was awesome backstage – even if his impassioned and fiery words to DB and Shane means he didn’t sign a contract.
SMACKDOWN LIVE was a solid show, FAR superior to Monday night’s RAW broadcast. The focus of the show was in-ring action with limited back-stage segments. The back-stage segments there were made sense, and built up what was (or is) to come, or were the results of what happened in ring.
The highlights of the night were easily Heath Slater and the Del Rio/Orton match.
The lowlight was Eva Marie. ‘Nuff said.
Smackdown is also making better use of their NXT Draft picks with Alexa Bliss and Carmella making impacts and picking up their first wins on SMACKDOWN. Alexa beat Becky, while Carmella gained some vengeance in a win over Natty after Natty’s attack last week. Not to mention AMERICAN ALPHA.
The main event match between the Wyatts (Bray and Eric) and the team of Ambrose/Ziggler – which evolved from the opening segment - delivered a great finish to the show.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Skip RAW, watch SMACKDOWN.
